Get connected. Building strong, positive relationships with loved ones and friends can provide you with needed support, guidance and acceptance. It is important to recognise this is a genuine struggle.
Make every day meaningful. Do something that gives you a sense of accomplishment and purpose every day. This could include volunteering, reading a book and/or spending time with family and friends. It is important not to isolate yourself in difficult times.
Learn from experience. Think about the skills and strategies that helped you through difficult times, it is critical to consider your strengths and what has worked for you in the past.
Take care of yourself. Tend to your own needs and feelings. Participate in activities and hobbies you enjoy and make time for yourself. Do not underestimate the value of physical activity in your daily routine, getting at least 7-8 hours sleep per night, and eating a balanced diet.
Be proactive and seek partnership. It is important to consider making an appropriate plan and taking action. Consider what am I going to do to manage this, rather than when will I be released from this?
