Christmas Wishes and Being Grateful
This week we are going to start posting our teams’ Christmas wishes for 2022 and sending out a Merry Christmas to all. It has been a really tough year, but we have almost made it to the end of the year. We are all a little bit tired, but I am sure we are also relieved that we are ‘nearly’ finally there! We have banded together, struggled through, showed support, shared our struggles and tried to unite during the lockdowns.
What is our Christmas wish? During the recording of these videos, one thing was clear. We all wish you a happy, safe, and struggle free 2022. This might not be completely possible, but that is what we are hoping for.
In this week's TED talk (link in our Newsletter), we have listened to Christina Costa - How gratitude rewires your brain.
“When a psychologist who studies well-being ends up with a brain tumor, what happens when she puts her own research into practice? Christina Costa goes beyond the "fight" narrative of cancer -- or any formidable personal journey -- to highlight the brain benefits of an empowering alternative to fostering resilience in the face of unexpected challenges: gratitude.”
Her message is so empowering! Having survived through an incredibly tough time, Christina came out grateful, highlighting that this really is a state of mind. What strength to choose this mindset and how reassuring that it is possible.
You might remember that our own psychologist spoke at The Exchange about Gratitude and she highlighted the following:
Gratitude is linked to an improvement in mood, positive changes in your brain, and it releases the feel good chemicals of dopamine and serotonin.
So what are you grateful for this year? What are your wishes for 2022?
